When I first started seeking out more holistic wellness solutions I had a toddler that was getting sick all the time—her runny nose would inevitably turn into a terrible cough and ear infection with seemingly endless rounds of antibiotics. Our pediatrician wanted us to consider getting tubes put in her ears, but had no answers for me when I asked if there was anything I could do differently to stop the sick cycle from happening in the first place. So, I sought out my own. Before I found Young Living, I was using a recipe we called "boo candy" (because that's what the blogger I had gotten it from named it). It was a mix of raw honey combined with spices of cinnamon, tumeric, and ginger. It tasted awful and my kids still joke about the "boo candy" I used to make them choke down daily when cold and flu season hit.
Thankfully I discovered Young Living and shortly after my sponsor, Sarah Stutzman of Well Folk Revival, passed on a recipe that was working for her children of similar ages. Raw honey has been used for centuries to heal many ailments and is still touted today for it's therapeutic abilities. This recipe combines the power of raw honey with some incredible respiratory and immune support essential oils such as Thieves, Lemon, and Oregano to create a spiced honey that has worked wonders to keep our families well ... and that my kids actually enjoy taking!
Be Well Honey
Ingredients
4 oz. raw honey
5 drops Thieves Vitality
4 drops Lemon Vitality
2 drops Peppermint Vitality
2 drops Orange Vitality
1 drop Oregano Vitality
Directions
Combine all ingredients in a glass jar. Stir well to combine. Store in a cool, dark place.
Suggested Use
Stir well before each use. We take approximately one teaspoon once daily to support wellness. You may take more if you start to feel a bit off for added support. Also excellent mixed into a tea, just make sure the water is not boiling when the honey is added.
