DIY Hand Purifying Gel

While we always prefer the Thieves Hand Sanitizer for its purity and Seed to Seal-backed ingredients list, when they go out of stock we choose to DIY rather than go without! If you’re in a pinch, and need to make your own, we prefer this recipe for a DIY hand purifier. This homemade purifier uses isopropyl alcohol, to meet CDC guidelines, but skips the synthetic fragrances in so many conventional hand sanitizers and adds aloe vera and jojoba oil for the moisturizing effect that so many conventional brands lack. Make it in a large pump bottle (or refill your empty large Thieves Hand Sanitizer bottle), then pump the mixture into travel bottles to have on hand everywhere you go!

DIY Hand Purifying Gel

8 oz. pump bottle (or an empty large Thieves Hand Sanitizer bottle)

2/3 cup 99% isopropyl alcohol

1 teaspoon jojoba oil

20 drops Thieves essential oil blend

20 drops Peppermint essential oil

To make, combine alcohol, aloe, and jojoba in a glass bowl and mix well. Stir in essential oils. Use a funnel to pour the mixture into an 8 ounce pump bottle.

To use, apply a small pump of the gel into your palm and spread it evenly over hands until completely absorbed.

Of course, washing your hands with soap and water is always the best option to disinfect and properly clean hands of germs and dirt. Check out this easy and economical DIY Hand Soap recipe.
